What we've been doing so far, hasn't been working. It's time to break the ice, talk about it and outstretch our hands.

"Having recently 'been there,' reconciling being gay and Christian, this piece was missing. People need it. Honestly, lives are depending on it."
- R. Graham, California

I’ve been feeling emotionally and spiritually bankrupt. Alone. Scared. I came to the movie hoping to find some solace, some safe space…and I found it. I learned I’m not alone. I can’t tell you what that does for me.
- B. Whitten, Pennsylvania

God & Gays: Bridging the Gap

The Movie. The Gathering. The Movement.

“…I learnt a few things watching this film, as well as feeling a range of emotions from a bit of anger and frustration to feeling huge sympathy for some of the people brave enough to talk about their lives.”
- R. Brunton, Scotland

Hello, my name is Kim and I will tell you more about us in a moment. First, here’s a short, true story I think you will appreciate…

She was a mother with two daughters, living in Arkansas. She raised her family in the church, devoutly living what was taught from the pulpit every day of the week. Not just a “Sunday Christian,” her radio was tuned to the local Christian station, her environment secure and pure – committed for life to something she truly believed.

Then, it happened.

She suffered a shock that would change her life - forced to confront everything she believed in.

From one of her beloved daughters, Anna, she heard the words she never dreamed she’d hear…“Mom, I’m gay.”

But how? How could that happen? How could her daughter deviate into such sinful behavior? Where had she, as a mother, gone wrong? How could Anna, her daughter, of all children, strayed into choosing the “homosexual lifestyle”?

Day by day, Mary Lou’s relationship with her daughter deteriorated. It got worse and worse. They could no longer speak to each other…and, finally, daughter Anna, found they could not speak to each other at all.

In desperation, Anna wrote her mom a letter telling her that her shaming words had destroyed her and their relationship. It had become clear that Mary Lou believed, “it would be better for her daughter to be dead than to be gay.”

How does this happen? How is it possible?

How can a family, focused on living life by the Bible be decimated so quickly and easily? After all, Mary Lou was doing what she thought was right.

So did Anna.

And the result? Anna’s self-loathing, the family’s shame, unimaginable pain and suffering.

When I heard this story from Mary Lou during our interview with her, my heart sank. Seeing Mary Lou’s blue eyes well up as she recounted the hardest time in her life was incredibly moving and unforgettable.

Is it possible to prevent this kind of destruction? Is it possible to save families like this? People like this?

Absolutely.

What does it take and how can YOU be the one to make it happen?

Almost everyone now struggling with these challenges currently suffer alone and silently. It does not have to be that way! This is why we made this movie, told from the eyes, hearts and minds of those who live in the mire every single day.

God and Gays: Bridging the Gap breaks the silence and opens the dialogue within you and your relationships to reach a place of understanding and love.
You’ll learn the tools to handle the questions and assumptions you’ve heard about gay people:

» Why and how are people gay?
» Gay people getting married, having children, or not?
» What is the gay lifestyle?

Hear Jason Stuart's coming out story

If you’re a parent, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of “family values.” You’ll find out things like:

» Is it my fault?
» How do I talk about this to others, how do I even bring it up?
» How do I protect my family member from society?
» What’s life like for my family member?

This open and honest conversation is driven by real people, vulnerable people, people willing to put themselves out there for us to learn from.

YOU Don’t Have to Make the Same Mistakes
That Others Make…

We all make mistakes, but we don’t have to make the same mistakes others make – we can correct them…now, BEFORE it’s too late…

Just like the individuals depicted in this movie, we’ve lived this kind of controversy every day. As the producer of the movie, I’ll be honest and say I experienced the same, tragic struggle growing up. And yet, I found, when I fully connected with God, my numbness began to fade away.

Luane, our director and my partner, had already surrendered her life to God. When her same-sex attraction was revealed to her, she felt it was a gift from God.

She shared with us what she knew in her heart, “It was my faith in God that brought me out.”

Whether coming to terms with a loved one’s homosexuality, or attempting to reconcile your own faith, everyone involved in this movie has experienced these very same obstacles and pain. AND, even more important to YOU, they also have experienced the solutions and tools that it takes to get through this kind of struggle – and to feel ALIVE again.

“As a former fundamentalist preacher, I found the information unusually accurate and addressed with compassion.” - Bob S., Arkansas

So, whether you’re struggling to reconcile being gay and religious, or whether you’re a parent, family member, straight ally, or concerned friend wanting to be a safe space, God and Gays: Bridging the Gap welcomes you and invites you in.

Hear Rev. Dr. Mel White on what happened to him

Here are some of the things you will understand after you see this incredible story:
» You’ll learn what the “gay agenda” is about
» You’ll explore whether being gay is a choice
» You’ll gain knowledge of the gay and religious perspective
» How homosexuality was introduced to the Bible

Most importantly, you’ll discover how to bridge the gap between God and being gay. The value of experience “from the horse’s mouth” is priceless.

"This movie gives voice to a reality that is often ignored or overlooked by Christians and the Church at large. It teaches love, acceptance and encourages people to practice what Jesus modeled." Sarah V., Oklahoma

Wouldn’t you agree there is nothing more valuable than you and your family and friend relationships? In bringing people together? 90 minutes can make all the difference.

You have the power, right now, to break the cycle. We know this is hard to reconcile, hard to talk about, hard to deal with, hard to be confronted with, there’s so many opinions out there, what will others think of me…the mind chatter and confusion feels endless.

It doesn’t have to be that way. God and Gays is a labor of love, of unification, of oneness. Right now you can take advantage of the personal stories contained in this movie. You have the power to try something new. Get back on track.
